Ocean Vuong


Ocean Vuong is the Poetry Arts Series poet. He will be speaking Nov. 22, 2016. The event is sponsored by the Literary Arts Series.

Vuong is the author of Night Sky With Exit Wounds, which won the 2016 Whiting Award. His poetry and fiction has been featured in the Kenyon Review, The Nation, The New Yorker, and American Poetry Review, which awarded him the Stanley Kunitz Prize for Younger Poets. He was born in Saigon, Vietnam, and lives in New York City.

Amitav Ghosh

Amitav Ghosh is the Literary Arts Series author and will be speaking April 14, 2016.

Amitav Ghosh was born in Calcutta and grew up in India, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka. He studied in Delhi, Oxford and Alexandria and is the author of The Circle of Reason, The Shadow Lines, In An Antique Land, Dancing in Cambodia, The Calcutta Chromosome, The Glass Palace, The Hungry Tide, and the first two volumes of The Ibis Trilogy; Sea of Poppies, and River of Smoke.
